teams up again with his two daughters Sienna (20) and Olivia (17) for their first album together, Ascension. Both daughters have previously appeared on two songs with their Dad, including Heal Me on Sewell's second solo album 'Live, Love, Sing!' and then the single 'The Prayer (A Mother's Prayer),' released by the trio during the first covid 19 lockdown in May 2020.
This album is truly a family affair, produced by Sewell's wife/business partner, and the girls' mother, Simone Lanham. It's mixed and mastered in the UK by industry legend Pete Schwier, whose catalogue of work over the past 40 years includes recent releases by Elvis Presley plus Paul McCartney, Shirley Bassey, Aretha Franklin, Pet Shop Boys, Dexy's Midnight Runners and Russell Watson. It features a new song, Ascension, with new music composed by one of New Zealand's most successful musicians, Carl Doy, and lyrics by Simone.
This recording showcases the Sewells' powerful and angelic voices in a range of nostalgic, emotional favourites, deliberately created to generate a healing release after the challenges of the past turbulent years. The whole family's intention for this heartfelt, personal album -to infuse love, create connection, spiritual upliftment and joyful expansion - is evident in every track.
